Daniel Mann is a London based filmmaker and writer. Mann's writings have appeared in journals such as Media, Culture & Society, Screen, and World Records. His first book, Occupying Habits: Visual Media as Warfare in Israel and Palestine, is coming out in 2021 with Bloomsbury. Mann’s films have been exhibited internationally at film festivals and venues such as The Berlin Film Festival, The Rotterdam Film Festival, Cinema du Reel, The Hong Kong Film Festival, New Horizons, Sonic Acts, and the ICA in London. Mann holds a PhD from Centre for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths College, London. Currently, he is a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow at the Film Studies Department at King’s College London, where he is developing a new project that focuses on the exploitation of Middle Eastern desert environments in cinematic depictions of war, conflict and climate crises.
