Description
The interview focused on results of the study, presented at the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) conference in Liverpool, which aimed to assess ethnic differences in cancer symptom awareness and barriers to seeking medical help in England. The results suggest lower cancer awareness and higher barriers among ethnic minority groups in comparison with White British participants. Possible explanations for the observed differences were discussed. In the light of these findings it is essential to develop targeted health campaigns, which will effectively address cancer awareness gaps and target the needs of people with different ethnic backgrounds.
