Description
Launched by the Institut français in 2016, the NIGHT OF IDEAS is a project staged simultaneously in Paris, London and worldwide, at the end of January. In 2021, the London edition of the NIGHT OF IDEAS was an online week-long festival from 22 to 29 January. In the context of lockdown, the Institut français du Royaume-Uni gave greater value to this key event in the cultural agenda and expanded its dates to allow as many people as possible to take part in the debate. Crossing French, British and European perspectives, and with the theme 'Together' as a common thread, the Night of Ideas tackled the latest ideas behind issues central to our particularly troubled era marked by the sanitary crisis and Brexit. I participated in a panel discussion on loneliness and togetherness. The panel discussed the question 'can we be emotionally connected in the digital world?' The other panel members were Manuel Arias-Maldonado, Professor of political science, University of Malaga; Clémentine Lalande, CEO of Once online dating app; Chaired by Tim Markham, Professor of Journalism and Media, Birkbeck College, University of LondonPeriod | 6 Feb 2021 |
