Only US able to reign in Israel as army 'fully prepared' ground invasion

The Israeli military has ordered people to evacuate parts of northern and eastern Gaza, indicating that Israel could soon launch renewed ground operations. Speaking to the Irish Star, Dr Andreas Krieg, Senior Lecturer School of Security Studies at KCL and Fellow at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies, explained the current situation in Gaza.

He said: "The IDF has prepared the ground for an invasion. The narrative is that they are extremely well prepared and have far more capacity compared to the early days of the war. They are ready, they have been able to restock and rearm. But nothing has fundamentally changed on the ground in Gaza so any strategic goals are just as difficult."
