Description

Dr Andreas Krieg from King's College London is discussing the prospect of the newly negotiated ceasefire brokered by the US and Saudi in Sudan holding. "This is a confidence building measure that has to be seen as a first building block of potential successive agreements. This is not the road to a truce but a mere humanitarian ceasefire. To bring this conflict to an end we need a third party that is interested in civilian control of the military - neither Burhan nor Hemedti can be this party"
