According to Dr Andreas Krieg, a #Saudi normalization deal with #Israel could become further complicated. Riyadh has put talks on the establishment of formal ties with Tel Aviv on ice, despite signs that an agreement was close prior to Oct 2023. ”The Saudis would worry that if Israel could act with impunity in the GCC, then perhaps they could do the same in [the Kingdom],” Krieg explained to Amwaj.media. Ultimately, this would send the “wrong message” to Riyadh, he emphasized, especially since both Israel and Saudi Arabia seem to want to pursue normalization after the #Gaza war.
