Personal profile

Research interests

I am a Public Health Nutritionist by training and am currently working in Dr Louise Goff's team in the Diabetes Research Group as Study Lead for the HEAL-D Study. We are co-designing and developing a culturally tailored healthy eating and active lifestyles programme for type 2 diabetes patients who are of African or Caribbean heritage.

My Doctoral Research programme focuses on motivating healthful behaviour change in our UK African and Caribbean communities, amongst individuals with or at risk of type 2 diabetes. I am exploring the use of behavioural change theory such as the COM-B approach and am using quantitative methods to explore attitudinal and lifestyle predictors of obesity in women from these communities.

I am part funded by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR).
