Biographical details

I am a HCPC-registered clinical psychologist with an interest in the early detection and treatment of psychosis. After completing my studies in psychology at the University of Padua (1999), I carried out a PhD in Neurological Sciences at University College London (2002). In 2004 I joined the Department of Anatomy at King's College London as a Lecturer and then a Senior Lecturer in Psychology. In 2012 I took my current position as Reader in Early Intervention in the Department of Psychosis Studies at the Institute of Psychiatry.

Research interests

The focus of my research is the identification of predictors of disease onset and treatment response in psychosis. This involves the application of machine learning methods to genetic, multi-modal imaging, cognitive and psychosocial data. A core aim of my programme is to exploit the translational potential of this information, using it to inform the development and evaluation of novel tools for early detection and treatment.
