Our work on automated detection of patterns of Alzheimer's disease was given a Highly Commended award, winning second place of more than 100 projects in the Health Service journal awards "Improving Care with Technology" category tonight.

Our work on automated detection of patterns of Alzheimer disease using structural MRI in clinical patients has been shortlisted for a Health Service Journal award in the "Improving Care with Technology"category (South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust)
Biomedical Research Centre and Biomedical Research Unit for Dementia Funded - 18th August 2011
The Biomedical Research Centre for Mental Health has been refunded with an increased budget and a new £4.5million Biomedical Research Unit for Dementia funded.

We have published an article on MRI in the UK's parliamentary science journal - Science in Parliament as part of a short series on Medical Physics in the UK.
