Mr
My research focuses on improving safety for cardiac MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) at high field. The use of parallel transmission in MRI allows much greater control over the radio frequency fields used, enabling us to control the shape of these fields and control energy dissipation in subjects. This can be used to improve image quality and reduce patient absorption of electromagnetic energy.
Part of my work has involved creating electromagnetic simulations of a parallel transmit coil. I used the concept of circuit co-simulation for this and the relevant Matlab code can be found on GitHub.
