Biographical details

Colombian neurologist with a deep-rooted curiosity for understanding chronic non-transmitable disseases and its relationship with societal factors. Holds a Master's degree in Neurosciences and another in Public Health, and have a dedicated career to exploring the intersection of neurology, public health, and social disparities.

Research interests

I studied my neurology residency in the capital city of Colombia, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges of stroke treatment and rehabilitation. During my residency, it became clear to me that stroke, a condition affecting millions worldwide, can serve as a powerful marker of inequalities. These inequalities extend beyond mere statistics, reaching into the realms of healthcare access, treatment options, and rehabilitation opportunities.

My Research Focus

My research is centered in how does an individual's social position influence their cardiovascular health outcomes

My research delves deep into the multifaceted dimensions of cardiovascular health disparities. I explore how an individual's social standing can affect their ability to adhere to therapies and adopt healthier lifestyles. Simultaneously, I investigate how access to cutting-edge medical treatments, innovative technology, and comprehensive rehabilitation can vary across different social strata.
