Research interests

This PhD thesis addressed the question of "How do new employment and social policies in Chongqing and Shenzhen affect rural migrant workers' employment security and social security?" It employed qualitative comparative research. One-year fieldwork study with two-month follow-ups had been conducted in both Chongqing and Shenzhen. Purposive sampling, criterion sampling, and snowball sampling were used to approach participants. Semi-structured interviews based on an interview guide were used to collect primary data. Qualitative and quantitative methods were utilised to analyse the primary data collected from interviews and secondary data from NGOs, the National Bureau of Statistics of China, and other resources.
