PhD Candidate at King's College London, Clara researches fragmentation of international law and the overlap between indigenous peoples' rights and investment law focusing on extractive industries. Clara holds a Modern Law Review Scholarship and Simon Roberts Award (2020-2021) and was the recipient of La Caixa Scholarship during the years 2017-2019.
Clara is a Visiting Lecturer on Spanish Law at the Dickson Poon School of Law and Graduate Teaching Assistant on International Law, Human Rights and Intervention at the War Studies Department of King's College London.
Clara holds a degree in Law and Business Administration and Management from Universidad Autonoma de Madrid and an LLM in International and Comparative Dispute Resolution by Queen Mary University of London. She is admitted to practice both in Spain and in Peru. She has previously worked as a litigation and arbitration associate in J&A Garrigues SLP in Madrid and as an arbitration associate at Miranda&Amado in Lima. She has acted as counsel in arbitrations carried out under the auspices of the ICC, ICSID, Corte de Arbitraje de la Cámara de Comercio de Lima, Centro de Resolución de Disputas PUCP and Corte Civil y Mercantil de Arbitraje de Madrid. She has experience in commercial, construction, energy and investment arbitration and she participated in negotiations between foreign investors and the Ministry of Economy in Peru. She also worked as a research assistant at UNIDROIT in Rome.
