Dr Daniel Munblit is a Reader in Paediatrics at Care for Long Term Conditions Division. He graduated from a Russian State Medical University in 2003 and then been trained at the Moscow Institute of Paediatrics and Child Surgery. Daniel accomplished his PhD at Imperial College London in 2016. Prior to this he successfully completed MSc in Allergy programme at Imperial College London.

His research interests are varied and include clinical research methodology with a particular focus on outcome research (core outcome set development), evidence synthesis, paediatrics, allergic diseases, breastfeeding and human breast milk composition research, developmental origins of health and disease.

Daniel leads The Core Outcome Measures for Food Allergy (COMFA) COST Action, approved by the EU commissioners in June 2019. This project is aiming to define the scope and applicability of food allergy Core Outcome sets and develop Core Outcome sets and measurement tools for food allergy.During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr Munblit has been leading the Stop COVID cohort at Sechenov University in Moscow, Russia. He is also heavily involved in International Severe Acute Respiratory and emerging Infection Consortium (ISARIC) post-covid condition research co-leading ISARIC Global COVID-19 paediatric follow-up and DEN-CORE project working on the development of Core Outcome Set for Dengue. Daniel co-leads PC-COS project, an initiative aiming to establish Core Outcome Set for post-covid condition.

Dr. Munblit's research also focused on advocating for stronger regulation of the infant formula industry. He has highlighted the issue of commercial influence in the overdiagnosis of cow's milk allergy in England, resulting in excessive use of specialised formula and clinical advice that can undermine breastfeeding. Another study that he led has revealed that many infant formula products make unsubstantiated health and nutrition claims, as reported in a recent publication in the BMJ.

Dr. Munblit is a member of Education & Training, Food Allergy and Allergy Prevention Committees at World Allergy Organization (WAO). Between 2019 and 2022 Daniel served a member of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Pediatric section board and a member of Paediatric Allergy Education & Training Committee.He also serves as an Associate Editor for Clinical & Experimental Allergy and World Allergy Organization Journal.

Dr Daniel Munblit has been involved as an expert in the World Health Organization activities and provided expert commentary on various topics related to his field for publications in mass media sources such as Guardian, BBC, USA Today, Sky News and Agence France-Presse.
