Research interests
My PhD project is interested in a critical geopolitical analysis of the meaning of Eurasia for Russia and Turkey. More generally, it focuses on the importance of ‘space’ and the geographical situation of a country in the formulation of its foreign policy. This research focuses on Russia and Turkey and their respective relations with the ‘geopolitical space’ of Eurasia. Based on a discourse analysis of speeches by Russia's and Turkey's political elite, this project analyses the way in which Russia and Turkey attribute meaning to the geopolitical space of Eurasia.
