Personal profile

Research interests

Dr Katelouzou’s research focuses on corporate governance, law and finance, and securities regulation, generally using an interdisciplinary approach. One strand of her research deals with shareholder activism, especially the style activist hedge funds engage in, and its interplays with corporate law in a comparative and transnational legal context. Her work is distinctive in its empirical orientation in the study of hedge fund activism and combines comparative legal analysis with empirical quantitative methods. In other projects, she analyses the development of shareholder protection across a large sample of countries using leximetric (quantitative) approaches. She is also studying the emerging notion of shareholder stewardship and the hardening of soft law corporate governance norms through securities and financial regulation at a domestic, EU and global level.
