    Biographical details

    Divya’s work focuses on global health systems, cutting across topics of universal health coverage, health financing, maternal and adolescent health, non-communicable diseases and social determinants of health. She is interested in understanding how gender and socioeconomic factors influence health care needs and access to health services. Her research is primarily based in low and middle-income countries.

    She has received research grants from MRC, ESRC, the German International Cooperation Agency (GiZ) and UK’s Global Challenges Research Fund. Divya’s health policy work includes working at the World Health Organization looking at gender and equity in universal health coverage, which resulted in a standalone report and a chapter in WHO’s Universal Health Coverage Global Monitoring Report 2019. Previously she had worked at City, University of London and at the London School of Economics.
