Research interests

My primary research interest lies in the social determinants of oral health inequalities and the mechanisms underlying the social gradient in oral health and dental behaviours, using lifecourse methods, advanced statistical techniques and data from national surveys and longitudinal studies with a special focus on low and middle income countries. I am also interested in measuring the burden of oral diseases on individuals and communities, using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs), population health metrics (such as disability adjusted life years or DALYs) and societal costs to inform policy action.
