Dr
Federica Lucivero has been conducting research at the crossroad of philosophy and ethics of emerging technologies and science and technology studies. She has been exploring theoretical and methodological questions concerning governance of innovation in the biomedical field (bionic technologies, specifically brain computer interfaces, molecular diagnostics, and recently e-healthcare and robots). In her studies, Federica tries to combine theoretical and methodological analysis with empirical studies. Her PhD thesis, completed in 2012 at the University of Twente (The Netherlands) and with the support of the 3TU Centre for Ethics and Technology, addresses the methodological question of assessing the plausibility of expectations surrounding emerging technologies within the context of Technology Assessment. She completed the Netherlands Graduate Research School of Science Technology and Modern Culture (WTMC). From 2012 till the summer of 2014, she was a post-doctoral researcher at Tilburg Institute for Law Technology and Society (University of Tilburg, the Netherlands) where she was exposed to theories and studies of technology regulation. Federica was recently awarded with a Marie-Curie grant (Intra-European Fellowship) on a project exploring the ethical and political underpinnings of mobile health (09/2014-09/2016). She joined the department of Social Science Health and Medicine at King’s College London in September 2014.
