My current research focuses on Wolfhart Pannenberg's overarching theology of history, making the critical argument that his later theology, rather than a shift away from history to a theology of nature, is rather a continuation of his theology of history that seeks to redefine what is considered history as well as how history is discussed, including the elmination of the distinction between Geschichte and Historie, made popular by Wilhelm Dilthey and Martin Heidegger. In doing so, I engage considerably with post-Hegelian continental philosophy of religion, highlighting the significance and influence of Friedrich W. J. Schelling upon not only Pannenberg, but many theologians and philosophers of the later nineteenth and early to mid- twentieth century. Included in this discussion is interaction with Wilhelm Dilthey, Martin Heidegger, Karl Barth, Rudolf Bultmann, Hans Georg Gadamer, and Wolfhart Pannenberg, along with others in the German tradition. Further, my research engages considerably with the philosophy of science, having a particular emphasis on the philosophy and history of physics, as well as its interaction with religion, especially Christian doctrine. The result is a project that makes a variety of contributions in many areas, particularly in the study of Wolfhart Pannenberg's overarching theology.
I currently possess an MDiv degree (a US professional masters for ordination) and am completing my PhD. I have a variety of interests (see research interests), and teaching experiences around the world. My hobbies, when I'm not working on my PhD, include reading for leisure, music (I play guitar, French horn, and dabble on piano), and going to museums with my family.
