Harriet is an AHRC-funded (London Arts & Humanities Partnership) PhD candidate in the English department at King's College London. She was co-editor of the King's English blog from January 2019 to May 2021.

Harriet's doctoral thesis explores depictions of telegraph operators in late nineteenth-century British and American literature. Harriet’s broader research interests lie in the intersections between literature, telecommunications technologies, gender, and sexuality.
