Mr Hasan Alhasan

Biographical details

Hasan Alhasan is a PhD candidate at King's College London where he researches contemporary Indian foreign policy in the Gulf. He is an Associate Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). Prior, he served as senior analyst on foreign policy and national security at the Office of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain.

Hasan has addressed a variety of government organisations and think tanks including the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Chatham House, the Royal United Services Institute, the Conservative Middle East Council, the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington, and others. He is also a regular participant in Track II dialogues on Gulf regional security and commentator on Middle Eastern affairs. His articles have appeared in Foreign Policy, the Guardian, La Tribune, The Hindu, Arab News, The Economic Times, Egypt Independent, Elaph, Muftah, Asia Times, openDemocracy and elsewhere. Hasan is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris and the London School of Economics. He is a recipient of the Crown Prince's International Scholarship Program in Bahrain. He is fluent in Arabic, English, and French, and is learning Hindi.
