The first detailed transcriptomic analysis of the response of the human lung to wood smoke and diesel exhaust derived PM.

Completion of the first detailed time series of ambient PM10 oxidative potential at roadside, background and rural locations.

Initiation of the BRC funded study examining the impact of the introduction of the Low Emission Zone on the respiratory health of children in inner London. This involved a considerable component of teaching outreach activity in schools in Tower Hamlets and Hackney.
