Research interests

&nbsp;Elderly people, and especially elderly fallers, walk differently. More slowly, obviously, but with the same cadence and with greater variability in mediao-lateral foot placement. Fallers, when challenged, tend to overexagerate these diferences. In the TUG test they stand up with a protective, but inefficient, wide base of support.<br /> Our studies include the development of novel ways of measuring perfomance in everyday tasks and of tools and proceedures to impove balance.
