Personal profile
Research interests
My research focuses on the moral, social and political thought of the Anglo-Dutch philosopher, Bernard Mandeville (1670-1733). I am primarily interested in how Mandeville’s moral philosophy intersects with his views on individual and social reform. My project is supported by an AHRC studentship, administered by LAHP.
I am a committee member of the History of Political Ideas: Early Careers seminar group, based at the Institute for Historical Research. I co-organised the 2020 London Graduate Conference in the History of Political Ideas.
At King’s, I have worked as a GTA on the module ‘The History of Western Political Ideas II: From c.1700 To The Present’. I was the administrator for the Centre for Enlightenment Studies in the Arts & Humanities Research Institute, and have assessed undergraduate submissions to the King’s Experience Awards.
I am also interested in policy research. I undertook a 3-month fellowship, supported by AHRC, at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology, where I produced a research brief for MPs and Peers on Conversion Therapy. I am currently undertaking another 3-month policy internship, also supported by AHRC, with HM Government's Open Innovation Team, based at the Department for Education.
