Professor Janet Peacock

Biographical details

 

 

Janet leads Medical Statistics within the School of Population Sciences and Health Services Research. Her main research interests are in the use and extensions of statistical methods in epidemiological studies, and the communication of biostatistics to non-statisticians. Her clinical research includes paediatric studies, particularly preterm birth, and cancer. Her main methodological interest is in making outcomes clinically meaningful and accessible to non-statisticians. She has written three biostatistics books for non-statistical researchers including the Oxford Handbook of Medical Statistics and the new 2nd edition of Presenting Medical Statistics.

She is co-lead for Data Analytics in GSTT/KCL NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.  She leads the statistics/database group for King's Technology Evaluation Centre (KiTEC) contributing to national policy through NICE and NHS England. She co-leads the NIHR Statistics Group and was appointed a NIHR Senior Investigator in 2017.
