Jian D. Zhang is conducting his doctoral research at King's College London, UK. Zhang's project explores China's state's role in developing and disciplining digital platform firms, such as Alibaba, Ant, and Tencent, particularly the political-economic logic of digital platform regulations and development. He enjoys researching the political economy of platform business, prosperity and security, and innovation.
