Biographical details
Jorge studied a BSc in Biology at the Complutense University (Madrid) and specialised in medical biology. He performed his final degree project at the university hospital Gregorio Marañón on cytokine communication in liver regeneration.
He obtained a MSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the Complutense University, carrying out his Master Thesis at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology of the Austrian Academy of Sciences on regulation of inflammation and cell death by linear ubiquitination.
Currently pursuing a PhD in cancer research at the Adult Stem Cell Laboratory (The Francis Crick Institute), Jorge is interested in cancer stem cells, a subpopulation of tumour cells responsible for tumour maintenance, progression and resistance to therapy.
