My research interests are in the sociology of public health, and in contributing sociological perspectives to health services research. Most recently, my research has focused on: mobility, transport systems & health; questions of how evidence travels from one setting to another; methodological development; and health professions. I am co-PI of the Social Sciences and Urban Public Health Institute (SUPHI),
I co-edit the journal Critical Public Health, and co-author the textbook Qualitative Methods for Health Research.
I re-joined King’s in 2016, having started my academic career working on a project that was a collaboration between A&E and primary care, based at King's College Hospital. In between, I have held posts at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London South Bank University and the United Medical and Dental Schools (UMDS) of Guy's and St Thomas' Hospitals. My undergraduate degree was in Anthropology, and I have an MSc and PhD in sociology as applied to medicine.
