Madeleine currently holds an NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre
Post-doctoral Career Development Fellowship at King's College London within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience. Her work focuses on women's perinatal mental health, specifically the interface between gestational diabetes and maternal mental health. Previous to this, Madeleine was a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Psychological Medicine at King's College London. In this role she was the project manager for the Malaysian GestatiOnal Diabetes and prevention of DiabetES Study (MY GODDESS) and worked on projects in in relation to mental disorders in people living with type 1 diabetes.
Madeleine completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science followed by her Honours in Psychology at the University of Adelaide, Australia. She went on to complete her PhD at the University of Adelaide. Her PhD work was undertaken alongside the first Australian Randomised Controlled Trial of a method of intrapartum fetal surveillance, which, compared to standard methods, has been hypothesised to reduce emergency caesarean section rates.
