Biographical details

Madhan Balasubramanian (MB) is an Australian Government National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Sidney Sax Research Fellow (2017-21) with support from the University of Sydney (Faculty of Health Sciences and Faculty of Dentistry), Sydney, Australia and a conjoint status with the Western Sydney Local Health District, Westmead, Australia.

He holds Visiting Research Fellow appointments with the University of Adelaide and Kings College London. MBs work in Kings College London is supervised by Professor Jennifer Gallagher MBE of the Kings College London Dental Institute. 

 

Research interests (short)

MB has expertise in a broad range of health services and health systems work, but brings specific interests in oral health, health workforce, global organisations, health policy and mixed methods research. In general, MBs research intersects three broad themes:

1. Health services and health systems (including practice patterns, service provision, health workforce, integrated care).

2. Future trends in health care (including e-health, electronic health records, innovations) and

3. Methodological issues (including mixed methods, national surveys, data linkage).
