This PhD will take place within a wider project in collaboration with the University of Reading and aims to develop a rich 3-D learning environment with a stimulating visual and tactile (haptic) interface that encourages cooperation and provides students with opportunities to hypothesise and explore complex scientific concepts.

I aim to implement the 3D haptic environment in schools and to test whether such an intervention increases conceptual knowledge of cell biology compared to existing methods.
