Research interests

Monica graduated as valedictorian for the School of Psychology within the University of Western Australia in 2015. She received First Class Honours for her undergradute thesis, "Exploring the Role of Obsessionality in Anorexia Nervosa: An Upward Spiral?".

Her current research centres on an exploration of oxytocin abnormalities within bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. Specifically, she is undertaking a proof-of-concept study to test the novel hypothesis that a single dose of oxytocin reduces subsequent binging tendencies in individuals with bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder.
