Project Title: The Role of the Enemy in Nationalism: Understanding the Glue that Holds Xi's China Together.
My PhD will focus on the changing uses of State victimhood narratives — seeking to understand how and why they oscillate under certain CCP leaderships. More broadly, I am interested in Chinese nationalism, uses of collective memory, authoritarianism, and leadership transitions in China.
