Nikola Naumov

My research interests are in cultural and historical geographies, heritage tourism and tourism management. I have a particular interest in post-socialist countries and Eastern Europe, the process of political and economic transition, identity construction and urban landscapes. My thesis concerns how heritage has been an essential component of socialist societies and an integral element of their national representation, ethnicity and cultural identities with a particular reference to how socilist values still continue to define social and cultural identities and reflect wider processes of self-definition, identification and consumption of heritage.

Tourism has always been a part of my academic, professional and personal life. I was born and raised in Bulgaria, where I gratuated with a BSc in Hospitality Management and MSc in Tourism Management from Assen Zlatarov University prior to joining University of Bedfordshire where I completed my MSc in International Tourism. My professional experience is related to travel,tourism, hospitality and aviation management and includes various positions in Bulgaria, United Kingdom and USA.
