Project: Essays in Macroeconomics. Research focuses on monetary economics, namely applications of the natural interest rate; presently investigating the parity condition between exchange rates and interest rate differentials in an equilibrium setting.

Research interests

Omar read Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the University of London and Economics at the University of Cambridge prior to commencing his PhD in Economics at King’s College London. His research interests lie primarily in monetary economics and macroeconometrics, with a particular focus on time series analysis. He is currently analysing the natural rate of interest and its estimation within the New Keynesian framework using Bayesian and Kalman filtering techniques.
