Research interests

Dr. Guo's research focuses on the development and application of mathematical techniques to study pathophysiology and therapeutic interventions with Positron Emission Tomography (PET). Her research interest particulary centered on the development of mathematical tools to reduce attrition in the discovery of novel PET probes and innovation in tracer quantification methods with a particular focus on imaging neuroinflammation in various diseases.

Biographical details

Qi Guo is a postdoctoral scientist in the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, working in direct collaboration with Imanova Centre for Imaging Sciences and Imperial College London as an honorary research fellow. 

Dr. Guo received her undergraduate degree in Electronic Engineering from Peking University, China. In 2006, she moved to the UK and started her training in PET imaging at the University of Oxford in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline’s Clinical Imaging Centre as a Dorothy Hodgkin scholar. She completed a DPhil in Biomedical Engineering in 2010 and received a UK Medical Research Council Postdoctoral Award to further develop her imaging skills. 

She has received a number of Young Investigators Awards from Brain and BrainPET meetings, and her scientific works have been cited in the highlights of the annual meetings of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
