    Dr Ravi Ramessur is a clinical-academic consultant dermatologist practicing in the UK.     Dr. Ravi Ramessur is a consultant dermatologist and clinical-academic researcher with a focus on psoriasis, inflammatory skin diseases, and their broader impact on general health. He integrates clinical practice, research, and education, striving to advance patient care through evidence-based approaches.

    Clinically, Dr. Ramessur manages a wide range of dermatological conditions, with a particular interest in inflammatory skin diseases. He has expertise in systemic therapies, advanced biologics, and complex case management, ensuring patients receive comprehensive, multidisciplinary care. His involvement in national guideline development and policy work-through roles in the British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) AI Working Party, Therapy & Guidelines Committee, Audit Committee, and the NICE Technology Appraisal Committee- reflects his commitment to improving dermatology services at a systemic level.

    In research, Dr. Ramessur earned a PhD in psoriasis and cardiometabolic disease from King’s College London, working with the BIOMAP consortium, a pan-European initiative investigating biomarkers for precision medicine in inflammatory skin diseases. His research has resulted in high-impact publications in JAMA Cardiology and the British Journal of Dermatology and has been presented at major international conferences, including the International Society of Investigative Dermatology (Tokyo 2023) and the Psoriasis Gene to Clinic Congress (2024). In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the International Psoriasis Council (IPC) Fellowship, through which he will undertake a one-year post-doctoral research placement with Professor Joel Gelfand at the University of Pennsylvania.

    Dr. Ramessur is also deeply committed to mentorship and education, having developed online research resources for BAD and delivered talks at national conferences to support early-career dermatologists. Through his work with ESDR, IPC, and BAD, he continues to bridge clinical dermatology, translational research, and patient advocacy, driving forward innovations to improve long-term outcomes for patients.
