Research interests (short)
- Investigating the impact of lifestyle factors such as diet, weight loss, and exercise on the treatment of psoriasis
- Exploring the connections between inflammatory skin diseases and other health conditions ('comorbidities'), such as heart disease, metabolic syndrome, and stress
- Identifying biological markers and predictive factors for the development of other health conditions in psoriasis, as well as assessing the responsiveness of psoriasis to treatment
Research interests
Dr Ravi Ramessur is a Specialty Registrar doctor in Dermatology and is currently undertaking a PhD at the St John's Institute of Dermatology at King's College London.
His clinical and research interests focus on inflammatory skin disease and translational medicine, and involves national and international collaboration. He also has a major interest in guideline development and implementation, with the aim of bringing research findings into clinical practice.
Dr Ramessur has won national and international prizes for both his clinical and research work, including awards from the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), Royal Society of Medicine (RSM), British Skin Foundation (BSF) and British Association of Dermatologists (BAD).
