Research interests

While studying Medicine in Amsterdam Rob visited the Institute of Psychiatry for a research placement. Here he first learned how to structurally analyse the brain in people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This triggered his interest in the neurobiology and behaviour of ASD. After graduating he returned to the IoP to start working as a clinical research worker and part-time PhD student. Rob is interested in psychiatric comorbidities in ASD and in using pharmacological MRI to study the impact of antidepressants on neurocognitive processes. Furthermore, Rob is clinically involved in the neurodevelopmental clinic at the Maudsley where he assesses adults with ASD and/or ADHD.
