Roy Cobby is currently a PhD Candidate in Digital Humanities at King's College London. He has an M.Sc. in Global Politics from the London School of Economics (UK) and a B.Sc. in Politics and International Relations from the University of Bath (UK). His research activities are focused on analysing the consequences of platform and digital economies on the Global South. He regularly writes political and economic analysis across various publications. In the private sector, he has worked in public affairs, environmental consulting, marketing and copywriting.

He is the Communications Editor for Data & Policy, an open access journal publishing research, case studies and discussion about the impact of data science on policy and governance. The journal is a collaboration between Data for Policy and Cambridge University Press. He has presented papers at the Annual Digital Cultura Conference, SASE 2021, the Millennium Conference 2019 (LSE), and the International 68/50 Congress (Universidad Complutense).
