Personal profile

Research interests

Sean Beevers (SB) is currently involved in the development of KCL's emissions and air quality modelling capability, including: CMAQ-urban, which is able to model air quality from regional (European) scale down to local street scale; linking energy systems models to UK emissions inventories to assess the air quality impacts of different pathways to meeting the UK Climate Change Act of 80% reduction in CO2 equivalents by 2050; Developing detailed human exposure models in urban areas.

The exposure outputs from KCL's air quality models continue to be used widely within and outside the MRC centre and include exposure to NO2 and PM in London and the UK as well as providing policy tools for the Greater London Authority as part of it plans to meet EU limit values in the city.

Research interests (short)

Combining regional and local scale air quality models for applications to epidemiological studies of air quality and health.

Developing UK emissions inventories in 2050.

Assessing the air quality impacts of transport strategies in London.

Developing hybrid human exposure models which combine air quality models, peoples movements through cities and personal exposure measurements.
