    Biographical details

    Dr. Roujol received a MSc. and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Bordeaux (France). In 2011, he joined the Cardiac MR Center at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral research fellow and was then promoted to Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. In 2015, he joined the Division of Imaging Sciences and Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London as a Lecturer in MR-physics. He has been promoted to Senior Lecturer at KCL in 2019.

    His research contributions have been awarded the Lawrie B. Morrison Research Award, for exemplary contributions to research in the Radiological Sciences by Department of Radiology, BIDMC / Harvard Medical School. He was also nominated as a finalist for Early Career Awards in basic translational research from the Society for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Overall, his work has led to >200 research outputs including 55 peer-reviewed journal articles.

    Research interests

    Dr Roujol’s research aims to develop novel cardiac MR pulse sequences and image processing algorithms to better diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular diseases and heart rhythm disorders. This work currently focuses on developing techniques for quantitative myocardial tissue characterisation and scar imaging, understanding the arrhythmogenic substrate of cardiac arrhythmias, and developing real-time CMR-guidance approaches for interventional cardiac procedures including cardiac catheterisation and ablation of cardiac arrhythmias.
