Biographical details

Dr Sophie Epstein is an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Her research interests are in child and adolescent mental health epidemiology, school-based mental health, early intervention and prevention, with a particular focus on self-harm and suicide. 

Sophie qualified in Medicine from the University of Bristol in 2009 and is training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She is currently completing a PhD exploring school attendance patterns as predictors of self-harm in adolescents. ­­
