Biographical details

Dr Sophie Epstein is a Clinical Researcher in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NIHR Maudsley Biomedical Research Centre (BRC). Her research interests are in child and adolescent mental health, school-based mental health provision and prevention, with a particular focus on self-harm and suicide. 

Sophie qualified in Medicine from the University of Bristol in 2009 and is training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. She is currently working full time on her research interests at the NIHR Maudsley BRC. She is working on a Data Science project funded by MQ, exploring school-related risk factors for self-harm and suicidal behaviour in children and young people. ­­
