Stephen Morgan has a general interest in notions of national (and transnational) cinema and a desire to investigate underexplored corners of film history. As an Australian (with Scottish parents) living in London, he has a particular interest in the intersection between the British and Australian film industries, notions of Australian identity in the British context, and wider Anglo-Australian sociocultural relations. To that end, he runs TheFarParadise.com, a blog project looking at Australian cinema in the UK, whilst his doctoral work involves a wide-ranging, historical-contextual analysis of a series of films produced in Australia between 1945 and 1960 by that 'quintessentially British' studio, Ealing.
