Biographical details
Tom is a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow and Honorary Senior Lecturer in the Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry Centre, at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. He was previously A Sir Henry Dale Research Fellow (Wellcome Trust and Royal Society funded) and ESRC postdoctoral research fellow.
Tom leads a team of PhD students and postdoctoral researchers at the SGDP Centre who develop and use genetically informative research designs to understand the intergenerational transmission of mental health problems. He works extensively on large family-based databases and is Principal Investigator on the Children of Twins Early Development Study (CoTEDS), the second generation of the Twins Early Development Study (TEDS).
Tom is happy to consider acting as supervisor/mentor to PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers with research interests that overlap with his own, and would be willing to assist during the application process. Please contact him via email if you wish to discuss possibilities
