Research interests
I am passionate about employing corpus-assisted discourse study approach in investigation of socio-cultural topics. My PhD project explores discourses about 底层diceng in China through AI-assisted corpus approach. My master thesis combined corpus-assisted CDA with statistical analysis, studying the media image of Chinese international students. I also applied corpus linguistics into discourse studies of other topics such as 985 waste (losers from elite Chinese universities) incident, and ‘lying flat’ incident in China. One of my current projects conducts corpus-assisted comparative study of discussions of Hallyu and masculinities on Reddit and Zhihu (a major Chinese social media like Quora and Reddit).
