Research interests

Inter-relationship of public policy, financial reporting, and financial management of financial institutions, particularly related to corporate sponsored pensions. She is also expanding her research into the association between corporation governance, firm performance and executive compensation. She is currently completing research projects focusing on: pension actuarial assumptions; pension risk management; firm performance and executive compensation.<br />

Biographical details

Dr Yong Li joined the Department in October 2009 as a Lecturer in Accounting and Financial Management. Yong obtained her PhD in Accounting from Warwick Business School at University of Warwick, and MSc in Banking and Finance (with Distinction) from University of Stirling. Her research expertise is in the area of pensions and pension accounting. Dr Li’s recent published research includes examining UK firms’ pension fund termination decisions in Journal of Business, Finance and Accounting. In 2008, She was awarded research grant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) to study the market valuation effect of IFRS pension accounting rule adoption in the UK.

Before joining the Department at King's, she worked as a Lecturer at University of Stirling, and Research Fellow at Warwick Business School.
