Dr Stephen Ashford, NIHR Clinical Lecturer and Consultant Physiotherapist, Faculty of Life Science and Medicine, Department of Palliative Care, Policy and Rehabilitation and Regional Hyper-acute Rehabilitation Unit, Northwick Park Hospital, London has been awarded a Fellowship of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN). The award was for the development and progression of clinical practice supported by research developments in the management of complex neurodisability and spasticity. Particular reference was made to the development of outcome measurement tools and systems for measuring change following intervention and incorporating patient and carer rating. In addition, guideline development work for spasticity, splinting, national RCP and NICE guidelines were referenced.
Dr Ashford has a new publication on evaluation of functional outcome following spasticity treatment in the leg.
